Thailand's Inventory of Chemicals

Thailand’s Department of Industrial Works (DIW) has now published a preliminary inventory for current and existing chemicals.

Announced in October of 2015, the inventory for existing chemicals is helping Thailand plan and implement a Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) like regulation for all new chemical substances.

The inventory list will also include both those substances that have previously been regulated by the Hazardous Substances Act BE 2532, and the substances that were registered by the DIW between 2012 and 2015.

The final list of the inventory is expected to be released on 31 December, 2016, and any chemical that is not on the inventory will be considered new.
