As of February, 9 2019, Environment Canada published "Order 2018-87-06-02 Amending the Non-domestic Substances List,” "Order 2019-87-01-02 Amending the Non-domestic Substances List," and “Order 2019-87-02-02 Amending the Non-domestic Substances List.” As a result, the following substances have been removed from NDSL: CAS# 13308-51-5, 496065-19-1, 163440-95-7, 29658-26-2, 70632-12-1, 72783-16-5, 1173160-50-3and CAN 19156-4. These substances no longer require notification or are subjected to assessment requirements of the New Substances Notification Regulations (Chemicals and Polymers) and the New Substances Notification Regulations (Organisms).

Furthermore, Environment Canada issued two ministerial conditions restricting uses of phenol, methylstyrenated (CAS# 68512-30-1) as a component in epoxy-based coatings. The ministry suspects this substance of being toxic or capable of becoming toxic within the meaning of section 64 of the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999 (CEPA). Restrictions are effective as of January 8, 2019.
