Cleaning Product Labelling

A United States House Bill regarding full ingredient disclosure on certain cleaning products has been brought forward to the US House of Representatives.

What will be known as, The Cleaning Product Right to Know Act 2016, aims to standardize the labelling laws for the chemicals that are used in a variety of household cleaning products.

If enforced, the act will require manufacturers of cleaning products to update the labels found on the product to include more specific listings of the chemicals used. It will also be mandatory for manufacturers to update the product website, so that it contains a detailed list of the chemicals used, the Chemical Abstract Service Identification number and the function of the chemical in the product.

The Cleaning Product Right to Know Act 2016, will ensure consumers know the exact chemical found in their cleaning products, and assist them in making an informed decision about the chemicals they are bringing into their homes.
