CLP Labelling Deadline

On June 1 2015, it was announced that all mixtures on the market must comply with the Classification, Labelling and Packaging Regulation (CLP), manufacturers and retailers were given a two-year transition period.

The deadline, June 1 2017, has now passed and anyone in the supply chain must comply with the new labelling requirements. All chemical products that are on the market must be labelled with the new red and white diamond shaped pictograms. Placing an incorrect label that is following the old classification is now illegal.

Consumers must also be aware of the new labelling requirements and pictograms, so that they understand how to use the products safely.
