Russia GHS

The National Technical Regulation on the Safety of Chemical Products, has now been approved by Russia. Coming into force on July 1, 2016 it will implement the Globally Harmonized System (GHS) of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals.

Russia will be required to register new chemicals and information that will include:

–          The use of the chemical;

–          Chemical toxicity and ecotoxicity data;

–          Physico-chemical data;

–          The Analytical methods of control; and

–          How the chemical should be disposed.

The Legislation will not have an immediate impact on the producers, as it is an on-going process by the Eurasian Economic Union.
