Vietnam SDS

Vietnam is working on the country’s first comprehensive chemical inventory and database, aiming to be completed by 2019.

With support from Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (Meti) the Vietnamese government is funding the project to develop the chemical and inventory database with an effective list of 300 and 400 chemical substances.

There were also key points introduced for the Decree 113/2017/ND-CP which regulates the declaration of both manufacturing and import of chemicals.

 Some of the rules include:

-       Removing the current list of toxic chemicals;

-       Adding requirement for the bottling and packaging of chemicals; and

-       Removing the requirement for the use of chemicals.

These rules are set to take effect on November 25 and they aim to ease the unnecessary restrictions and make some tasks for self-management.
