The restriction for the use of Methanol in windscreen washing or defrosting fluids has been extended to May 9, 2019. The original deadline was May 9, 2018 but has now been delayed one year.
The revised entry in Annex XVII of REACH states that ‘Methanol shall not be placed on the market to the general public after 9 May 2019 in windscreen washing or defrosting fluids, in a concentration equal to or greater than 0,6 % by weight.’
