Finland’s Safety and Chemicals Agency is in the process of development a nation-wide online chemical database.
The database aims to bring information on chemical substances to one place, enabling companies to handle chemicals through a single service, and allowing authorities to have direct control of risk assessment.
For now, the database will be limited to hazardous chemicals. Later, the agency hopes it will be possible for companies to maintain lists of chemicals for emergency.
The Finnish Safety and Chemicals Agency aims to have full operation of the database in 2020.
