The government of Vietnam has received a new chemical control legislation for signing.

The legislation, which is expected within two months, will replace the 2007 Vietnamese law on chemicals. It is expected that this new legislation will have an emphasis on inspection and less on both new regulations on label sizes and licensing.

Currently, Vietnam’s National Chemicals Inventory includes 5,000 chemicals. Almost 800 entries have been collected public comments since November of 2016, suggesting a lot of work still needs to be done.
