In September the European Commission published an initiative to update the rules on classification, labelling and packaging (CLP). The commission introduces the possibility of endocrine disruptors, Persistent, Bioaccumulative and Toxic or Very Persistent, Very Bioaccumulative (PBT/vPvB) and Persistent, Mobile and Toxic or Very Persistent, Very Mobile (PMT/vPvM) chemicals becoming official classification hazards, effectively amending the Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008. If this proposal is approved, then all EU SDSs and labels will require a re-review and update if such chemical properties are present. This news comes just prior to the Annex II SDS update deadline of December 31, 2022.
The 4-week feedback period ends on October 18th, 2022. The full draft act and feedback submission portal is available here: https://ec.europa.eu/info/law/better-regulation/have-your-say/initiatives/13578-Hazardous-chemicals-updated-rules-on-classification-labelling-and-packaging_en
