The Canadian Government has added 14 substances to the countries Domestic Substances List (DSL), an inventory of substances that is found in the Canadian marketplace.
In part one of the List, 14 substances have been added, while four were added to part 3 under review of the new substance programme. It has also removed significant new Activity, also known as Snac, reporting requirements for 33 substances.
Back in June 2008, reporting obligations were imposed of the substances because they were thought to be an ecological risk. However, when the substances were re-evaluated under the aromatic azo and benzidine-based substance grouping, it indicated that the substance were no longer to be considered a risk.
