The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) issued a news release on Wednesday May 11, 2016, in regards to the new updates for workplace injuries, hazards and illness.

As of August 10, 2016, OSHA will require employers and employees to send a report of any injuries or illness that occur because of workplace hazards on OSHA’s agency website. The new guideline issued by OSHA, aims to prevent the number of workplace injuries and illnesses that occur each year by giving publicly disclosed data, containing no identifiable personal information, to future employees allowing them to make an informative decision when looking for an employer. OSHA expects that by giving the public this data, employers will make health and safety a greater priority along with giving workplaces a goal to improve workplace safety programs.
