On December 30, 2016, the California Air Resources Board (ARB) announced an assessment for products that are Multi-purpose lubricants. Under Consumer Products Regulation section 94513(f)(2) multi-purpose lubricant products that are sold in the state of California, responsible parties are required to supply a written update of the research and development efforts to achieve the 10% by weight VOC limit for the products. This requirement to scheduled to become effective on December 31, 2018.
