Health Canada is currently conducting a consultation on its proposal to create Administrative Monetary Penalty Regulations under the proposed Canada Consumer Product Safety Act. The Regulations are meant to further clarify the provisions of the AMPs process on matters such as classifying violations, fixing penalties, and respecting the circumstances under which penalties may be increased or reduced. The purpose of the attached consultation document is to provide you with important information related to this proposal and to solicit your input.The deadline for this comment period has been extended to November 26, 2010.

Health Canada is currently conducting a consultation concerning a proposal to make Exemption Regulations  which will provide stakeholders with the opportunity to provide their comments. The proposed Regulations would exempt consumer products, classes of consumer products or class of person from certain provisions of the proposed Canada Consumer Product Safety Act (CCPSA) relating to non-compliant consumer products and preparing and maintaining documents. The purpose of this consultation document is to provide you with important information related to this proposal, and to solicit your input. The deadline for this comment period has been extended to November 12, 2010.
