Revised working procedure for biocidal active substance approval now online.

The revised version of the working procedure, agreed at the ninth plenary meeting of the Biocidal Products Committee (BPC) in February, has been published. Compared to previous versions, it clarifies responsibilities, actors and timelines and includes a few additional elements.

After the first year of operation of the Biocidal Products Regulation (BPR), the BPC Secretariat has identified several points of the working procedure that needed either to be clarified or to be modified (for example, actions and expectations regarding applicants, accordance check criteria).

Following discussions with the BPC members and with the stakeholder organisations, the revised procedure has been agreed at the ninth BPC plenary meeting.

The separate annex containing the timelines for the process flows will be soon published.
