The National Consumer Product Safety Standardisation Technical Commission of China, has drafted a list of restricted substances that are commonly used in consumer products.

 

Containing many existing Chinese standards, the draft list is based on the EU and other foreign legislation. The consultation period on the substances ended in April of this year.

 

Some of the restricted substances include:

 

 

    • haloalkenes;

 

    • phenols;

 

    • polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons; and

 

    • aldehydes.
